Gary

Gary: Gary grew up in North Cornwall and joined the Royal Air Force in 1985. After leaving the RAF he never quite settled. The familiar road of changing jobs every few years out of sheer boredom and drinking far more alcohol than should be possible to survive, he settled back to sunny Kernow in 2010. In 2016 he found himself volunteering for (and then contracted to) Active Plus, where he finally ended up supporting Cornwall's ex-military community. Working with people that understood his sense of humour and past mental health issues soon became his passion. He will never promise you the moon on a stick but if there is any way that he can smooth your journey he will hunt it down

Sue

Sue is our military families specialist and is passionate about ensuring families are supported and helped. As the wife of a serving soldier who after 28 years in the military finally put away his green kit to embrace veteran life, she has a unique perspective of the challenges faced by both serving and veteran families. She understands issues encountered by families not only from her own experiences but also from her time as a coordinator for the Army Families Federation

Sara

Sara: Being the daughter of an RAF Pilot and being married to an ex-soldier, Sara has always had a real understanding of the challenges that military personnel and their families face and how hard it is to get personalised support.  She worked for SSAFA as a veterans and families caseworker for many years and for the last year and a half has been a Veteran Specialist Change Coach with Active Plus.  She is qualified in Information, Advice and Guidance and her passion for making sure that people who have served our country and their families who have and continue to support them is why she has become involved with Op Kernow.

Greg

Greg moved to North Cornwall in 1979 and left in 1986 to follow his big brothers footsteps by joining the Royal Air Force. After a few years, Greg left the Royal Air Force to work and travel the world, and during this period met his now wife. A few years later after another stint of travelling, Greg moved to Bristol and embarked on the beginnings of a legal career at Bristol University and has been a lawyer since 2001. Greg’s wife is from an Army family. This, combined with his own time in the Royal Air Force and long friendship with Gary, Greg has an understanding of the challenges facing veterans. For now, Greg works in the background supporting the Op Kernow Team.
